We are thrilled to be live on WTNH, Channel 8, this Sunday, February 21st at 7:15am and want to share with you our list of eight winter boredom busters. What to do when your trapped inside to keep the kids busy and parents sane!
Sun Catcher, Scratch Art and Paper Marbling from our friends at New Britain Youth Museum.
Decorate your window with a classic sun catcher, create your own scratch art with a re-used CD or decorate your own background for scrapbooks with paper marbling. Moms can have a lot of fun with the personalized scrapbook pages.
Build a City and Spring has Sprung from our friends at the Connecticut Historical Society in Hartford.
Re-use those delivery boxes or raid the recycle bin to build a city – get creative by adding windows, doors and building numbers. Use duck tape to create streets if you really want to get into it. Spring is on its way, make your own bouquet where the flowers won’t wilt.
No-bake Nilla Wafer Burgers from our friends at Palace Theater in Stamford.
If kids eat their real burger dinner, then they can get a snack burger! Yum!
Wooden Spoon Puppets from our friends at the JCC of Greater New Haven.
Decorate wooden spoons with ribbon, bows, string, construction paper – whatever you can find. Perfect for young ones to use in their play kitchens afterwards.
Snowman Tray from our friends at Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center in Mystic.
Use cotton rounds or construction paper and decorate a snowman. Or take it up a notch and gather some snow outside to decorate a snowman in the sink or tub.
